2011 Angel Tree program

This holiday season First Alliance Bank again participated in The Emmanuel Centers Angel Tree program with the adoption of a small family of a single mother and two young children. The family visited the Uptown Branch where they received the many gifts generously donated by the bank's employees. The Uptown Bank staff was delighted to witness the elation and heartfelt gratitude expressed by the family. Sharing the joy and excitement of the holiday season with families like this mother and children is why First Alliance Bank continues to participate in this commendable event year after year.

snacks, books, games, hand-written letters from children and colored pictures. While many of these items are available at any neighborhood convenience store, those deployed to help protect us and those in other countries don't have these simple comforts. The boxes are being mailed this week in hopes of delivery by the 4th of July.

Making a Difference

December 31, 2010—With record numbers of people out of work in 2010, and many experiencing difficulties they've never experienced before, the employees of First Alliance Bank were happy to be able to make a difference for some of their neighbors.  First Alliance Bank customers and employees donated their time and resources to the following events and causes in 2010.

The Salvation Army logoFirst Alliance Bank worked with WREG-TV, Channel 3, and The Salvation Army in July, 2010, by collecting donations to purchase air conditioners for seniors and needy families. The East Memphis Branch location was used as a remote TV location to collect drive-by donations on July 29, 2010. Bank Cashier KaRe Walsh and Executive Assistant Dee McCarver braved the 100°+ heat to collect donations in the parking lot. Branch Coordinator Linda Jenkins, Branch Manager Linda Patton, and Customer Service Representative Shelia Smith sorted the donations and made sure the money was credited properly.  With your help we raised more than $50,000.  That was enough for more than 400 air conditioners to be distributed.

Pop Tab Palooza logoDuring September and October of 2010, First Alliance Bank participated in the Ronald McDonald House Pop-Tab-Palooza by collecting pop-tabs in each of the four (4) bank locations.  Customers and employees diligently removed tab tops from cans and deposited them in containers in the branches.  Money raised through this program goes directly into the Ronald McDonald House Charities and enables them to continue to help the children and families of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Also in October, First Alliance Bank participated in the Great Pumpkin pin-up program with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Cystic fibrosis ("CF") is a genetic disease which affects approximately 30,000 children and adults in the United States.  A defective gene leads to chronic and life-threatening lung infections and impairs digestion.  Currently, there is no cure, but promising new strategies for therapies and more clinical trials are Cystic Fibrosis Foundation logounderway on new CF drugs than ever before. Bank customers and employees who donated at least $1 had their names displayed on a pumpkin inside their branch.

Mid-South Foodbank logoIn November, 2010, First Alliance Bank again worked with the Mid-South Food Bank to collect food items, paper goods, personal care items, and cleaning products to be provided to individuals and families that were in need of help.  Bank customers, employees, and many other generous individuals contributed to this worthwhile cause.

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which Toys for Tots logothe campaign is conducted.  First Alliance Bank was proud to provide each of its branch locations as a donation drop-off location in December of 2010.

Several First Alliance Bank officers and employees joined together to provide Christmas presents to a Mother and her three children through the Emmanuel Episcopal Center.  Vice President Angel Price and Executive Assistant Dee McCarver delivered the presents to the family's home. Watching the excitement within the adorable children and seeing the appreciation from their loving Mother brought great joy to everyone involved.

Tis the Season!
